TESC HELP!!- I need a two or three credit general ed course

Hello,

Okay I got my eval and some credits did not go as planned. Why I do not know, I have written them an email but I still want to have a plan B just in case they say no. I need two credits in general education courses, however I will take a three credit course if the price is right. I am looking for something that is price friendly and that I can finish in about a month.

I know that penn foster has a 1 credit course for ace credit but I think that it is just that one. If there is more than that 1 credit course available at penn foster please let me know. I know of seminary extension two credit courses and the only course which I have not taken a stab at on SL is the medical terminology but I don't know if it will count as general ed course. Please let me know what resources if any other the ones I have mentioned are out there. I would greatly appreciate it.

The community college near me has a summer intercession, that is a 3 week intensive. They offer some classes online. I took the Introduction to Business class over the winter intercession. It is under $500 for a 3 credit class in 3 weeks. I'm taking the HR management in June.

Don't take a class if you can CLEP or DSST or ALEKS or Straighterline out of something.

I'm sure you can. Intro to business DSST is super easy and so is principles of supervision. Then there is info sys and comp applications, A&I literature, you could do ALEKs math classes using mathway.com for a quick 3 credits in intermediate algebra etc.
These can be completed quickly for a low cost. Straighterline has some classes you can complete quick too for about $135.

Ryoder, I agree I want to stay away from a course if I can. The $500 at the community college is almost what I pay at TESC. Okay I have maxed out ALEKS (taken all the courses that do not overlap at TESC) and have taken most of everything at SL except for med term and the math courses. I guess my only other option would be a CLEP/DSST or PF. With that being said what woulc be considered to be the easiest exam? I am in the midst of two courses at TESC and one course at PF and I am not trying to overload myself.

I agree with Ryoder and vote for A&I Lit for 6cr; I think I remember you needing hum credit so you can take care of both 3cr hum/3cr gened with the same exam. I sat the test cold. I read there are petersons exams you could use to practice. Just so you get used to reading the passages which for me were quite long. I had to click on answers for the last 28 because I ran out of time. Still passed if that tells you anything.

You are more than likely already using intro to business and prin of supervsion for business electives.

Edit to add: I just reviewed your degree plan again and yes, it would be a good idea to use A&I lit. Also I noticed you have two PF 300 level courses (ret mgmt & lab rel) in business electives. You don't need those unless you want to take them. The business elective section can be from any level business courses so you can test intro to business and prin of supervision for those 6 credits. The exams are cheaper and both super easy for anyone who already took economics, fin accounting and management. You could easily take all three of these exams on the same day but if not comfortable do A&I Lit first with fresh eyes, then the two business courses on the same day.

I totally agree with bricabrac on that recommendation.
Supervision and intro to business are freebies if you already took macro, micro and management.
Business ethics and society and organizational behavior are required for a business degree but arent that hard if you read an org behavior book and the exam feedback on business ethics. I also supplemented ethics with the ethics section in the Portable MBA book.

BTW, business people. Get the Portable MBA and read the entire book. It covers all domains of business concisely and adds a lot of clarity to the traditional textbooks and flash cards.

I have not read your degree plan, but Bricabrac and Ryoder are excellent sources of info. If you have any health medical background I thought here's to your health was easy. I do agree why take a course if you can test out.

okay. i seriously need to update my plan i think because i must have missed a course. i did take intro to business (Bus-101) at my local CC years ago. So I can do the A&I Lit for six credits and the principle of supervision. That would take care of the humanties and the gen ed credit like you stated. the principle would help with the business elective. I am a bit nervous on testing. I have never done it before. I think this will be a good way to get my feet wet. Okay, Im going to sign up for the IC monthly subscription again. Can you recommend any other sources which are good to study from for A&I Lit and Principles of Supervision.

A&I Literature does not have flashcards, just use specific feedback area and peterson’s practice exams. This test is reading comprehension and it's super easy. Time is your enemy on this test because some of the passages are long. That's why I suggest using peterson's to become accustomed to the material.

Principles of Supervision use specific feedback area, IC flashcards and do a run through of the principles of management flashcards once to refresh. You can also do the peterson’s practice exams.

Also, I never used it but everyone says Free Clep Prep.com is a good tool to use.

Believe me, they are both very doable without any stress or a lot of study. Once you take the first test you will be hooked like the rest of us!

BricBrac, I'm going to take A&I and everyone keeps telling me it's super-dee-duper easy. Would you even suggest that I practice for it? I'm going to take that and EN102 CLEP, which I hope is also easy.
