I've decided to get the BSBA in CIS degree from TESC. I submitted my transcripts from the local JC last December and received my evaluation.
For part A (Intellectual Skills) of the GenEd requirements, I received the following credits:
ENC-101 - 4 (from B&M class)
ENC-102 - 3 credits needed
College Algebra - 5 (from B&M class)
Bus/Mgr Comm - 3 credits needed
Intellectual and Practical Skills - 3 (from B&M class)
I searched the forum and saw a thread stating that extra credits can apply to the general ed electives (essentially reducing the number of general ed elective credits required). However, under my general ed electives portion of my evaluation, I don't have any notation of the 3 extra credits from the above courses (1 extra credit from the English Comp course and 2 extra credits from the Math course). Does anyone know if they still roll-over extra credits into the general ed electives? I'm hoping so, since it would save me having to take an extra class/test.
Maybe the evaluation was just a general one and they don't roll-over credits until I enroll and speak to a counselor?
Thanks,
-Casey

As at March 2014 when I applied to TESC, they still roll over credits. It seems to me (based on my evaluation) that TESC roll over credit from any area of your course to the Free Electives section. Am not sure about this, but a look at my evaluation suggests that it how it works. For instance, part of my evaluation reads:
Quote:Free Electives (6sh)
> Complete 6 semester hours.
!! Exception
over 1.75 sh gen ed, over 1 sh bus elec
take 3.25 sh
!! Exception
courses ok
Semester Hours Completed: 4.00
Src Course # Title S.H. Grd TESC # Notes
1.. MAR-321... Marketing Communications. 3.00 CR
1.. FEL-121... Library Orientation...... 1.00 CR FEL-121 *NE
From the above, it seems that 2.75 SH rolled over to the free elective section while I had to only complete between 3.25 and 4 SH to meet up the 6 SH required for free electives. Even at that, I have overage of credits.

No, they're semester hour credits.

Ok, good to know. They don't reference by extra credits on the general ed electives or the free electives. I'm hoping they'll apply to the general ed electives as my free electives are already complete.
