TESC GPA calculation
#1
I am now reconsidering my plan of testing out for all of my remaining credits. I just realized (thanks to this forum again) that these credits will not be assigned grades and will not change my GPA. I have a need to improve my GPA. So I may have to take 2-3 courses at TESC. Now I am looking at a whole set of new head-scratchers. Most of the classes I was planning on either have a wait-list or are very close to full. And TESC has not even started the evaluation process so I am looking next month before anything concrete takes shape. There is absolutely no way that I can wait till the next semester. I could beg and plead with TESC tomorrow and figure out if they are willing to help me out and get me admitted before my credits are evaluated but as of now my option is between a rock and a hard place. I could stay with my current grade IF I can drop some of the bad ones. There is a very good possibility that some of my credits may not be 'needed'. Does TESC 'drop' unused grades when calculating the overall GPA?

On a similar note, the following 2 courses do not seem to have any equivalent exams. APS-401 has no classes scheduled for the remainder of this year. Has anybody done this course before and aware of any equivalent courses?

Project Management (MAN-435)
Current Trends & Applications (APS-401)

Sad RANT alert
On a sidenote, it is very disappointing to learn that these exams are not graded. There is no incentive for people to learn more and get a better score? (other than a personal goal/satisfaction of a job well done). If the scores are just used to determine a P/F status, then why even calculate the score. A person putting the minimal effort required to get through (which I have no problems with) is probably smarter then a person working his ass off trying to get a 70+. It does not seem to make a whole lot of sense to me.

Thanks.

Sorry I didn't fully collect my thoughts on the second part of the qn before submitting it. APS-401 seems to be more of a self assessment, continuouis improvement kind of course without any need of any text-books etc. It is highly doubtful that there would be an equivalent course. The next class is in April 2012. This is a show-stopper for me. What are my options in terms of working with TESC on this situation?
