If anyone is interested, Charter Oak just posted the application for the PLA scholarship for the current 2015-2016 school year.
It is a little different this year, as in it is for only one free assessment instead of the two from last year...but free is still free!

I applied for it yesterday. I will update this thread when I get word if my application was approved or not. Just to give people an idea of how long it takes for approval and how strict the standards are.

Minor update: There was a typo on the original DOC from straighter line...They repeated the same question twice in two separate areas of the application form. I just said see question #such and such in the duplicate spot and in my submission I noted the error on the form.
I got an email back acknowledging the mistake and was asked to answer one more question and respond back via email. I completed that, so we will see what happens next.

Got the following email late Friday:
Congratulations!
We are pleased to inform you that you have been awarded a Prior Learning Assessment (PLA) Scholarship! You must use your award and submit documentation of having done so within 60 days of this notice or it will be forfeited. You are being awarded with funds to cover the cost of:
Portfolio-CSS345: Auditing IT Infrastructure
The funds will be credited toward your Charter Oak student account upon submission of your portfolio and must be used toward your portfolio assessment fee. Please use the current portfolio instructions and forms in the Student Forms section of Acorn.
