Network Technology TECEP CMP-354 for non-matriculated enrollemnt
#1
I have registered, received my student ID, entered the OSS site, and submitted my CC transcript through the electronic system. I am going to go the 'pay per credit' route and soon take a TECEP to become enrolled and lock in my degree plan which is BSBA CIS.

I found the Network Technology (CMP-354-TE) sample questions on the TESC site. I answered 22 out of the 25 based on prior knowledge (would have had 23 but who knew 802.11g, not 802.11n, is the current wifi std?). To anyone that has taken this test, is that enough of a score on the sample questions to get a passing score on the exam? It seems the subject matter is mostly A+, Network+, Network essentials and maybe some IP.

I found it to be pretty easy. As you've found alot of the material is dated (some EXTREMELY). If you don't have familiarity with token ring and these older standards I would brush up on those before taking them. If i remember correctly it was mostly OSI & TCP/IP model knowledge.
Currently studying for: Still deciding.

Yeah, it's dated, but just take the test like you are Mr. Peabody and use the wayback. It's the same with the CISSP, who the hell cares about thinnet and thicknet and how long the cables can be. Like you are going to see those anymore.

as mednat said, it's pretty heavy on OSI, so remember, Please Do Not Throw Sausage Pizza Away!
