Well I decided to get an eval done at both EC & TESC so I could see which would serve me better. While I wait and wait and wait for the eval to be done I have been making CHART after chart after chart and now I'm in need of guidance. As I try to plot my future I'm not sure where the ACE recommendation will come in for my MOSs. I looked up both on the ACE website and I see they have 5 different skill levels for each MOS. Does anyone have experience as to how the colleges award the skill level. I read the info on skill levels on the ACE website and it stated the college does an assessment of the individual to determine the skill level. I assume since they don't know me it will be based on the other classes I have actually taken?? Anyone know?

The way it works for Ratings (Navy, CG) and I assume it works the same way with MOSs which would make sense for skill level, is by your pay grade. At the E-4 level for each rating you are awarded a certain number of credits. At E-5 you are given those credits plus additional, E-6 a few more. At each pay grade you are more skilled at your job and have proven to have the skills required to do that job. ACE evaluates the different jobs within the services based on the job you are doing (for us it is our correspondence courses required for advancement) and decides how much credit to award based on that.
But, the college isn't going to make that determination, they are going to go by what ACE recommends at each level.

The colleges go by the ACE recommendation in AARTS transcript. The level is determined by rank and duty MOS. You get some credit for AIT, then some for your rank/position. For an NCO you get management and leadership credits as well. There is an AARTS website, it was down just now, but before you could get an unoffical AARTS transcript online.

Yep, I looked at it before it went down but forgot to print it -ugggg. I should have known that when I am dealing with the govement that I need to print everything. I figured that it would be based on rank but with 5 skill levels I was not sure which one whould apply to an E-4. Well I guess I will just have to wait to see what I get awarded, unless the website comes back on line. Thanks for the help guys.
