I just received notice from TESC that Pen Foster's ENG 121 (Busines and Technical Writing-$200) fills the Busines Communications area. The DSST- Technical Writing test is a Humanity (or General Ed.) I hope this helps!

I was hoping someone would get the answer to this and post it. I contacted TESC to ask but since my application was over a year ago, I am technically not a student (I am expired! ). As an individual of such lowly stature, they would not tell me if this class would fulfill the requirement.
So, thanks Mae, for posting this. I am going to contact PF tomorrow to get started. Best wishes, Kelly

.......don't forget that you need to have ACE transcript the Penn Foster course before transfering it to TESC. Good Luck!!

It's regionally accredited for high school and vocational/technical instruction, but not for associate or bachelor degrees.

I just got off the phone with Penn Foster (I was having trouble navigating their website...), I talked to someone named Julie and she was most informative, and thought I'd post what I learned.
The Business communications course is no longer offered - it's an old course. But you can fulfill the business communications requirement with the Penn Foster Business & Technical Writing class. The $200.00 price must be an older price, because they told me (and I saw on their website) that if your not enrolled in Penn Foster's entire curriculum then it's $295.00 a course with another $25.00 enrollment fee. Those are all the charges involved, you don't have to pay extra for books or anything. So a grand total of $320 for the course. Not exactly a steal, but it's a better deal than the Thomas Edison courses. The credits will transfer to Thomas Edison through ACE. This seems to be the lowest priced course (that I've found) to meet the TESC business Communications requirement. If anyone knows of any other/better options, let me know.
