EC & ALEKS Math Question - What Will They Take?
#1
Ok, I need a quantitative reasoning for my BSLS at EC. They said any college level math class will satisfy the requirement. I'm in ALEKS trying to do the stats class for my BSHS degree at EC and I've lost my motivation and time to commit to it. I was hoping to use the stats for both degrees. But since I'm almost done with everything for the BSLS I've decided to try to do some other math with ALEKS to satisfy the requirement then I can come back to the stats or try to test out of it.

Does anyone know what ALEKS college level math classes EC will accept? Will they take intermed. algebra? Does anyone have any suggestions? It has been almost 30 yrs since I have taken a math class. I was good at algebra back in the day, but I'm rusty.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

You would need at least College Algebra for ECE. After I took Intermediate Algebra at my local community college, I bought the College Algebra CLEP and spent a few weeks studying because there was a lot of overlap, and maybe 70% of College Alegbra CLEP has Intemediate Algebra.

So I could do the college algebra CLEP or ALEKS Interm. algebra? Wouldn't they be considered duplicate credit? I'm just looking for the fastest easiest math I can take to get my credit to complete my degree. I have to take stats for my BSHS degree, so I that will be enough of a headache!

No, ALEKS Intermediate Algebra is below College Algebra. If you go to ALEKS website you will see the following courses listed.

Intermediate Algebra - Ace Course No. ALEK-0002
College Algebra with Trigonometry - Ace Course No. ALEK-0004
College Algebra - Ace Course No. ALEK-0003
PreCalculus - Ace Course No. ALEK-0005

Sent a message to the academic advisor via MyEC and see if they will accept College Algebra from ALEKS. The ACE Course No. is ALEK-0003. I know they will not accept Inter. Algebra because my Intermediate Algebra at the local college was considered part of my general ed courses. I had to take the College Algebra CLEP to satisfy my quantitative reasoning requirement.
