TESC BA requirements
#1
I've heard the general BA requirements at TESC have changed recently. Someone posted that you now need a lot more 3000 level credits. Does anyone have any specific information on what the new requirements are for the General BA at TESC?
Thanks in Advance!

As far as I can tell, TESC doesn't have a General BA. All of the programs offered can be found here: Thomas Edison State College

I'm not really sure, I haven't heard anything like that and am pursuing a BA with them as well, in either liberal arts or communications.

I'm guessing that by "General BA" you're meaning a BA in liberal arts? Because the "General Education Requirements" of any BA that account for half the degree (60 hours) shouldn't change much, or at least that's what I would assume.

Unfortunately I can't find much to confirm my findings though. TESC seems to holding back their college catalog, or at least hasn't posted the 2009-2010 version yet. I can't find it. The only thing they have, now, is the undergraduate prospectus, graduate prospectus, nursing, etc. All I have is the 2008-2009 catalog... any help to find the updated one would be appreciated! Unless, like I said, they just haven't uploaded it yet.

I'm shooting for a BA in Communications through TESC. Sitting at 81 credits, I hope to be finished by summer 2011. Please message me for input or questions :] I'm open to help- both giving and receiving!

I have my course evaluation from 2007. It doesn't state what type of BA it is, however when i spoke with my advisor I stated I just wanted to finish a general degree to get into grad school. I know there are no guarantees that the course evaluation I have hasn't changed by quite a bit - however i want to make sure my degree plan is really going to work.
Any suggestions?

To get to the catalog, go into the home page, then the "student services" tab (or link at the bottom), then "publications."

Humm. It should say, even when I got my evaluation in 2007 it said my concentration at the top. In any event, just go into the web page and pull up the credit distribution for Liberal Arts. That's as close to generic as you'll find and you can compare it side by side to your old evaulation. IMO, the liberal arts, social science, natural science/math, and humanities degrees (which were the ones that just changed) are more difficult to complete now through testing alone (certainly more expensive!). The other degrees all remain unchanged.

Yeah, that's where it was, but now it just takes you to another webpage and doesn't download the PDF catalog
