Yeah, a 100-level course isn't always much easier than an upper-level course. I guess it depends a lot on the subject at hand relative to your experiences, interests, knowledge, and skills. Try selecting a course/exam that you're interested in. An enjoyable subject is sometimes easier to conquer than a boring, dry one.

I aim to get thru the Gen Ed requirements quickly to free up time and effort for my core requirements. One other question, does straighterline use the same proctor service as TESC - ProctorU, or do I need to find a different proctor ?

The proctor is included in the price, and it is ProctorU.
Don't forget to check the course information for which texts are required, so you can prepare books, or ebooks, before you pay for courses. I prefer ebooks because they can be searched quickly.
