Hi all. Instead of waiting the seventeen years it takes TESC to issue an evaluation, I thought I'd run this degree plan by you guys to gauge your thoughts and reactions. Will this degree plan be approved by TESC? Will all the classes fit these requirements? Any tests that aren't being accepted any more? (Apologies for the formatting; these editors don't accept formatted copy-paste.)

At first glance, I noticed you have the DSST Western Europe Since 1945 in the plan, but not in your sig as complete. It' went away as of 1 Jan, did you do it prior?

Nope. It's not being "refreshed," but actually went away? The Soviet Union exam is also going to wait until DSST brings it back.

History is a major that is much more difficult to accomplish with the retirement of the History DSSTs mentioned above. You had most things in the right places, but I moved a few around.
--Your College Math CLEP counts for 6 credits, not 3, so that, the AP English, and the CLEP College Algebra fulfill the Intellectual and Practical Skills.
--Business Law does not fulfill the Ethics requirement, but your DSST Ethics in America does, so I flipped those two courses.
--Intro to World Religions transcribes as REL-405 instead of as a history course, so I moved it over to fulfill the other diversity elective since TECEP Business in Society doesn't fulfill that requirement (but SL Business Ethics in Society would work).
--The History section needed a bit more tweaking. You had counted the DSST Civil War and Reconstruction as upper level, but TESC transcribes it as HIS-252. Given that and the loss of the DSSTs, it was difficult to find other upper-level options that would work. I put in the alternatives next to the retired DSSTs.
If all of the history sounds daunting, you might consider a BA in Social Science instead, which is much more test-friendly.
Good luck!

Thanks for this! Incredibly helpful. I'm going to stick with history, but I have a couple of questions:
-In the history electives section, are options you list on the same line mutually exclusive?
-Does the Liberal Arts capstone count towards the TESC residency requirement?

Are you enrolling soon? I guess it doesn't matter because TESC won't pre-approve NCCRS courses anyway. There are some NCCRS-approved history courses from Coopersmith that might be upper level. You would probably have to chance it using the PLA database if you decide to go that route.

I'm a pay-per-credit student as of last week, so my BA requirements are locked in. I think I'm set in upper-level courses; here's what I have after doing some of the tweaks KayV mentioned:
Rise and Fall of the Soviet Union (DSST) (3) (300/400)
World Conflicts since 1900 (UExcel) (3) (300/400)
US History from 1945 to Present (CSU Global) (3) (300/400)
History of the Vietnam War (DSST) (3) (300/400)
Intro to World Religions (DSST) (300/400) (3)
Ethics in America (DSST) (300/400) (3)
And five of my six TECEP exams for residency are lower-level free electives.

I see four potentially upper level history tests; you need five. The CSU Global exam might be downgraded or considered a duplicate for U.S. History II even though there isn't complete overlap. Just make sure you have an advisor give the equivalency; but, even with that, you're still one test/course short.
