Thanks so much for the info sanantone!
Could you please explain how I could use the Saylor courses to get credit though?
And how I would skip paying for TESC PLA courses?
I found this page on TESC:
Open Course Option , does this mean that these are the only Saylor courses I can use to get credit?
I'm sorry about all the questions.

You can skip having to pay for TESC's PLA courses by completing the free, non-credit versions on Saylor's website. Or, you can take Kaplan's ACE-approved PLA course. TESC will accept external PLA courses.

The Saylor courses that aren't NCCRS-approved (most aren't) are not worth college credit on their own. Once you complete these courses, you can use the knowledge you've gained to complete a PLA. If you sign up for an e-portfolio account on Saylor, you will have a transcript that shows proof you passed the final exam for the course. The final exams for the non-NCCRS courses are free and don't require a proctor. This can be used as documentation for your portfolio.
TESC requires a introductory PLA course before you can submit a portfolio for assessment. This course can be taken with TESC, LearningCounts, or another college. Kaplan offers a free, ACE-approved, PLA course. TESC will also let you go through the free, non-credit versions of their PLA courses. Once you complete them, you just notify TESC. The links to the courses are on Saylor's website.
Quote:These courses are now openly licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 license (CC-BY 4.0), and can be freely accessed here (PLA-100) (PLA-200). If you choose, you can work through these open courses tuition-free. At this time, you cannot receive credit towards your degree for working through the open version of these courses; however, it will satisfy the program requirement. Once you have finished the courses, please alert Thomas Edison PLA staff before you submit any portfolios for assessment.
