Quickest diversity, Civic, and Ethics classes/tests to fulfill TESC degree?
#21
Most of the BA degrees in a specific subject have specific courses that must be satisfied, some of which are not available at TESC and have to be transferred in. Some of the degrees are more test friendly then others. BA degrees in Social Sciences, Humanities, Liberal Studies or Natural Sciences/Mathematics are more general and flexible. Humanities would include English/literature courses. Social Sciences would include economics. I think the BA in Communications might be test friendly.

Liberal Studies is the easiest to do. Humanities is harder to find enough UL credits that are able to be tested out of, same with SocSci - LibStud includes both, so it really opens up what you can use (both Hum & SocSci). I can't see why anyone would choose either of those over LibStud, as they are all pretty broad.

Communications is impossible to test out of, there are only 4 out of 8 courses that you can find inexpensively, only 2 of which are UL (Managerial Comm & Marketing Comm). Tech Writing & PR TECEP's are LL.

Once you get past BSBA Gen Mgmt or CIS, LibStud or NatSci/Math, you can no longer test out of a degree at TESC. Those 3 are your best options to get through quickly and cheaply. After that, it just gets harder as you narrow down what you can take. Obviously, if you already have courses under your belt (especially if you have UL credits), more opportunities open up.

I'm currently enrolled in a non-business AAS where Business Ethics and Society is being used for ethics. If the course is used for ethics, then it automatically counts toward gen ed. The ethics requirement is embedded in the gen ed requirements. It cannot go anywhere else.

Hello Sanantone, could you hammer-in one more nail to this coffin? What TE did TESC give you in your AAS (which is?) for your DSST Business Ethics CBE? Was it the same TE within the other majors? Thanks.
