I start my 3rd week of that course on Monday 15 March. I have Dr. Lansford as my mentor. I've only sent him about 3 emails and he seems very understanding. The first day of the course I sent him and email telling him that I had to do a training exercise until March 21st (which I'm still in) and that I will have to turn in some assignments late. He said "No Problem" he understands, just let him know in advance. I don't know Dr. Fisher, I didn't know you could pick a mentor either.

Cool..
Have you bought all 8 books that the course requires? I was lucky that my library here had two of them. I spent $95 on the other six at Amazon with shipping.

Hi Jacanyardie,
Good choice, I heard Leo was a bear! I registered yesterday for the GS class with Litz. She also received good feedback. Enjoy the class!

Hi Clep,
How has the workload been on this course? Midterm? I've read from older feedback is was about the same (or better) than a 3cr class but that feedback was from 2007 and 2008. Since the courses change all the time, thought I would ask. Especially since my plan is to do quite a bit of testing throughout the semester.
Thanks!

The workload is surprisingly much less than any other 3 SH course I've taken. The classes at Excelsior were much worse as far as writing assignments and discussions go. I have 1 Discussion and one writing assignment every two weeks here. The midterm is in week 7. The writing assignments are essays of 500-1000 words. Not too bad.

For the first assignment they want you to read 3 books. Two chapters from one of them. For the amount of work that they give, it is very doable to read your books. I can't really tell right now whether or not I will need all 8 books, and I don't want to tell you to get only some of them. I would play it safe. You can always sell the books afterward.
