Thanks for the reply. I am honestly a little nervous about this requirement as, unlike many people on this forum, I have no IT background whatsoever. I am good with using software/applications but do not have any study or meaningful experience with the âunder the hoodâ computer aspects.

If you're using the per credit plan, this is a good requirement to use a TECEP on. It's a very easy choice. Otherwise, saylor's intro to computer science fullfills this as well (for some odd reason). This is definitely not the easier choice.
Currently studying for: Still deciding.

The TECEP is a breeze though. I highly recommend it. I haven't taken the CLEP, but I've heard it's pretty simple as well.

The Intro to Computing DSST was very easy. You should consider it. It requires only minimal studying and the specific exam thread has some great study guides posted.

I will look into the TECEP (or the Info Systems CLEP?)Saylor course materials are often much more daunting than the exam actually is. Because they link to so many outside sources, they tend to overlap, and explain the same things in different ways (and cover stuff that isn't on the exam at all). Try taking the non-proctored final. I suspect you'll find it much easier than you're anticipating. You can copy off the questions as you take it so that you can use them as a study guide later. If you do well, ahead and take the proctored final for credit. The worst that happens is you fail, are out $25, and then you can pursue one of the other choices.

I have no IT background at all, and passed the DSST and the TECEP without studying. I think if you are computer literate, these are doable. I would do the Saylor exam if I needed this requirement now (it wasn't available back when I took the DSST, and I took the TECEP for the residency).
