Study.com questions
#1
Hi. I'm plugging away using the Study.com Guardian Scholarship. They limit you to 2 tests per month. Is it possible to get 2 accounts if I am on a role and want to attempt 4 tests? I understand the cost is $200. Not sure I'll get to that point but wanted to ask. Second question is: There are classes I've taken elsewhere but may want to brush up (i.e. Psych101). Am I allowed to enroll but just can't take the final/get credit? This is a fantastic way to learn. Thank you

I've been doing study.com for a while now but I don't have the guardian scholarship so its a little different.
Currently if you have a regular (non-scholarship) study.com account then you get two tests a month plus the option to pay $70 for additional tests after that. I have read that people with the guardian scholarship have called and they allowed them to pay the $70 for additional tests but you have to call and ask, I'm not sure if they always will do this.

If they won't allow you to do that then I'm pretty surrey can make two accounts. They have good phone customer service too if you need to call them.

On the regular account you can "enroll" in as many courses as you want and you only pay if you take the proctored final. I'm pretty sure that is how it would be with the scholarship account too. I think it's kind of silly and confusing that they call it "enrolling" because all that does is add it to your dashboard so you can get back to it more easily.

Yes, they never did put in the ability to add a test for $70 to the scholarship as they have the usual subscription. But do as many as you can/like and take your 2 finals per month. You can always pay yourself after the 90 days for more, plus the $70 per extra finals and just finish up the ones you did prior.

Also don't forget to take that required on first on the scholarship Smile

I had a second account. I was told I couldn't add any extra exams to the scholarship account even though I wanted to pay for them. I ended up with so much time between exams that I just did two overlapping accounts and ended up getting five courses finished in one month - the two exams on the scholarship account and three on the paid account. So it's totally up to you. You can use the extra time to review courses, take courses from another provider or take on a second account concurrently.

As far as accessing courses and not taking the final, that is allowed. You can use the material to study for other exams or just brush up. Just know that when the scholarship account ends you lose all progress you had made so you won't be able to come back and test on it later. (Unless they changed this - which is possible).

Yes you get access to all courses. A good way to double "Use" the study.com subscriptions is to study for Saylor exams that are $25 each

I'm a bit confused about how many courses you can get credit for with the scholarship only. Is it 7? (The personal finance first to unlock, then 2 regular exams per month for 3 months.) Or is it 6 total, including the personal finance course. Or can you skip getting college credit for the personal finance course and use your 2 exams per month for other courses?

No its just 6 total and you have to take the exam for Personal Finance (even if you don't need the class - which I didn't). But its still a good deal since its free and you get the other 5.

6 total and Personal Finance is the first and exam must be completed before you can take the next

Where can I find study.com's customer service phone number??

EDIT: Apparently I didn't search everywhere...you'd think it would be on their home or contact page? I'll add it here in case anyone else has the same issue locating it.
