Okay, this kid graduated from high school with HOW many college degrees? Teen to graduate high school with 8 college degrees - CNN.com I hate him, and fell like a gigantic failure... Okay, not a failure 'cause I'm gonna have a degree, but I do hate him.

That's a great accomplishment for him. He should be able to knock out that BA/BS with no problem with that kind of work ethic.
Don't miss out on something great just because it might also be difficult.

To add to the post. Last week, news affiliates posted a small segment on a 11 year old that has three associate degrees.

I've heard it said, "Comparison is the thief of joy."

There is always someone _________ than you. (Fill in smarter, richer, better looking, in better shape, funnier, etc.) That's how life is. Even those at the top of the heap can't stay there forever.

Focus on your own path and accomplishments!

You are not a failure!!! At different times of our lives some of us have "all the luck". Things just fall into place and life is good. For some of us this happens when we are very young and we don't always appreciate it. For others of us it takes longer we have had the bad times first and we appreciate the good times more. You are just coming into your good times later in life, like your user name you are a LateBloomer but you are blooming beautifully.

Lindagerr,

You are so very kind. I'm just being spiteful (which is my norm) when I say I hate the kid and feel like a failure. I'm still doing the happy dance from passing College Algebra a little over three weeks ago.

AkaiOkami, I hate this kid too, and feel even MORE like a failure!

Wombat777, Well thank you VERY much. Now, not only do I get to feel terrible 'cause all these rug rats are graduating from college before I had my first date, I can feel terrible 'cause, now that you've reminded me, I'm also deficient in wealth, looks, figure and humor. Sheesh, it sucks to be me. (Is there another word for "sucks?" I really don't like it very much.)

Cookderosa, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, BUT, not only is the glass half empty, it's leaking.

Well, those rug rats don't have you caring folks in their lives, so I'm up on them in that area!

I am literally laughing out loud right now ... which I sincerely hope is the response you were looking for ... (otherwise I will just insert foot-in-mouth and carry on)

Okay, I DO have an excellent (if twisted) sense of humor.
