Got a question - if I sign up to take classes at COSC and I want to transfer a class that they accept from Straighterline, does it show up on the COSC transcript as a grade or does it show up ACE credit/grade? I am thinking about the long term and how this would eventually transfer to my University that I am getting my degree from. My University doesn't take ACE credit...I have searched the forums and I am really unclear about this. Thought if I transfered it to COSC along with taking a class from them I could have the Straighterline class on the transcript without the ACE issue. I guess I am wishful thinking...
Anyone want to jump in and clear it up for me?
Thanks
Suz

This is my understanding of the situation:
It is always best to follow the policies of the school from which you intend to graduate.
Since Rebel100 says in this post that the COSC transcript will clearly state StraighterLine, using COSC will not help you transfer SL (or other ACE credit) to your college.

I know this is bad news, but this is exactly why I say that each school has their own set of pros and cons for each student. We rarely get to combine different schools' policies to our advantage.

This is how my transcript reads:
Organization : DANTES Examinations *
SE4 Civil War & Reconstruction(66)10/11 A 3.00 3.00
Organization : StraighterLine *
MAT 101 College Algebra B- 3.00 3.00
Organization : Colorado State University-Pueblo
GEOG 102 Cultural Geography A 3.00 3.00
SOC 401 Health, Culture & Society A 3.00 3.00
SOC 432 Organizational Theory A 3.00 3.00
Have you talked to the Registrar directly? Sometimes exceptions can be made when you take your case to the proper authority.

I'm always happy to complete the free application waiver for those applying to WGU (I get a free gift from WGU for this). Just PM me your first/last name and a valid email so I can complete their form.
