I was searching through google and this is one of the first things that popped up.
Top 13 Complaints and Reviews about StraighterLine
Every single rating is negative, I almost want to make an account just to up their ratings a bit cause they were always good to me.
Between me and my wife we took over probably 25 classes earning 75+ credits. One month I forgot to cancel membership and they refunded me no problem, another time my wife didn't receive UL credit from a course they stated would.(cause UMUC sucks, they transferred it at (BMGT 100-496)wtf....I think I am the reason there is a disclaimer that says Lower level now ;P) I contacted them and they refunded me the next day.
Anyone on here have major problems like people in the reviews, or do people just try to find somewhere to complain when they are butt hurt?

I will tell you that there is 1 main person behind those complaints, and last year he/she made my life miserable stealing photos of my children, making a webpage about me, and more...all because I asked a few questions to get to the heart of the complaints. It took me a long legal battle to get their content removed. My suggestion: Ignore them and move on.

You're right UMUC sucks big time. Why military people continue to torture themselves with this school is beyond me.

PrLoko-isms
Don't waste time by trying to save time. The only sure way to complete your degree is to knock out credits quickly and efficiently.
Don't let easiness bite you in the rear. Know your endgame (where you want to be) and plan backward from there. Your education is a means to an end.
Be honest professionally, socially and academically. There are people (especially little ones) who look up to you and they're going by your example.
Be proud. Whether you're an Engineer or Fast Food worker, there is honor and dignity in hard work.
Picking on people weaker than you only proves that you are a weak person.

I know while I was in received the biggest push from every education I dealt with. Even the ones that had reps from other colleges there still pushed UMUC at every briefing, and they were the only reps I ever saw with classes at Bagram and Kandahar.
Only reason I didn't end up going with them is I saw an advertisement for AMU for an Explosive Ordinance degree, and it intrigued me enough to try it out. Course, that led to many other issues (none of them AMU's fault) that ended with my GPA somewhere underground.

I had some minor issues with SL but overall my experience was positive. Looks to me like whoever wrote those reviews didn't do their research before signing up and didn't know how to cancel their subscription when they were done.

I used Straighterline for three courses: Organizational Behavior, Business Ethics, and Macroeconomics. I had some minor technical issues at one point, but that got straightened out in a day or two. I enjoyed Organizational Behavior and Business Ethics. I didn't really like Macroeconomics, but I hadn't expected to, as economics courses have proven to be not quite my taste. However, the courses was much less hateful than my Microeconomics course, which I appreciated. Plus, I finished all three courses in a month, so they were very affordable. I'd recommend Straighterline to someone considering it.
