So I have a massive head cold and just took the Strategic Management TECEP...I'm not feeling very confident at all. I am am praying so hard that i passed. Fingers crossed, eye crossed, ankles and knees crossed...GAH!! At least with the online TECEPs I will have the results back relatively quickly.
The test was as I expected, i just wish I read the text a little more closely. There were several instances where i read a question and thought, "I know i read this" but just couldn't recall the details. I really wish I had Sherlock's 'Mind Palace' that would be really handy for these tests, LOL.

Which text book did you read, Bub212? I haven't decided whether I'll do a TECEP for Strat. Mgmt., or the PF course. Forget Sherlock's "Mind Palace." Who was the evild guy in the PBS series with the REALLY detailed "Mind Palace?" I want his!

HA! At this rate I won't be choosey, I'll take anyone's Mind Palace over my sieve-like mind.
I used "Crafting & Executing Strategy: The Quest for Competitive Advantage" (16th ed) by Thompson, Strickland, and Gamble. The text actually wasn't terrible...you know, for a textbook. The text material only makes up about half the book, the other half is made up of all cases. Where I went wrong was that i read the text, but only paid attention to what was on the fact sheet and kind of glanced over the rest.

Thanks. When I was a member of Instacert, that seemed to be the general opinion voiced in the feedback. Did you look at Instacert's flash cards for this test? If so, were they helpful?

I did briefly, but only for the first set (the one that covered Vision, Mission, etc) I ran out of time to do any others. But the first set had good info in it that helped reinforce the first 2 chapters of the text.

Thanks, that's good to know. How soon will you learn how well you did on the exam? Is it a function of when you take the exam, or something else? I mean, is it w/i 3 weeks of completing the exam, or the 1st blue moon after the exam?

Bub212, thank you for the feedback on the Strategic Mgt test. I was actually thinking whether to do the PF course or TECEP it out. From your post, I made up my mind to take TECEP. I have just ordered the book via amazon Uk and will start preparing for the test even before I get my TESC credit evaluation. Please keep us updated when you get the result.

LateBloomer, the online TECEPs seem to get graded a lot quicker than the paper exams. I just took the Business in Society TECEP on the 19th and the results were posted to my evaluation the 21st. (I took a paper exam last year and it took 3 weeks to get the results).
