Hey guys,
So this is it for me. I will be going in to take my last TECEP (Biz Policy) on January 2nd. After that all I have to complete in order to fulfill my requirements for my BSBA from TESC is Managerial Accounting.
Before I ask the question, I am looking to speed through this mother before my TESC enrollement expires on March 2nd, 2012.
Is it wiser to take SL's Acounting II or to take TESC's e-Pack as far as speed goes? I am not looking to take TESC's actual online course because I don't have the time or $$ to do so.
Also, how much like ALEK's is SL? Because I did ALEK's for my Pre-cal and Biz Stats requirements and it was absolute hell for me...took me nearly 6 months to do those two courses. I am not looking to duplicate that nightmare haha...
Anyways, it's been almost 3 years guys and I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel! You guys have been a huge resource and I am very grateful but I'm gonna milk you one last time for advice =P
Thanks!

If speed is your primary concern, I would say TESC's epack. There will be no delays waiting for a transcript to transfer and be evaluated, so you are less likely to run into a time crunch or be forced to pay an enrollment extension. I took an epack on 12/3/11 (I/O Psychology) and it's graded, and as of this morning posted to my evaluation. With Straighterline, you will need to fly through the material to try to get it posted to your ACE transcript and sent to TESC fast enough to show as received to avoid paying an enrollment extension.
If money is a major consideration, though, you'll pay the same money for an epack as you will for the regular course (double-check but I think TECEP and PLA are the only course types with special rates). Straighterline is significantly less expensive, so that is the clear winner when finances are the major factor.

Thanks!
Yes, I guess I will be going with SL no matter what as I cannot afford to pay the $600 for the TESC e-Pack.
The two times I have transferred credit to TESC via ACE it has actually been pretty fast so I'm not too concerned about that slowing me up...
Still if anyone out there has any direct feedback on using straighterline for Accounting II let me know what you thought of it.
Thanks!

Hello,
I want to first be sure you are taking the correct course. Maybe I am reading your signature incorrectly but it shows you've already taken managerial accounting from TESC with an A grade? If this is true, that is the same course as SL Accounting II. What you would need now, if you don't already have it, is Financial Accounting or SL Accounting I.
ACC101 = TESC Financial Accounting = SL Accounting I
ACC102 = TESC Managerial Accounting = SL Accounting II
I think the straighterline course would be cheaper, faster and probably easier (although more tedious) than taking an epack.

Hey,
The TESC course in my sig with a grade of A is a typo. It should be Managerial Comm.
But yeah ACC-102 is what I need so that would be Accting II on SL. I am really hoping Straighterline won't be too bad. I gotta knock it out in 2 months :ack:

My vote is for Straighterline. I finished accounting 1 and 2 in about a week or two.

You go 15% luck. Here is my suggestion. Read the chapter and make sure that the problems aren't too hard to do. Do a couple of them. Also make sure you know where in the book, each type of problem or topic exists. Then take the chapter test. Half of it is finding the answer in the book. The other half is finding a sample problem in the book and reworking it for your current exam problem.

Thanks ryoder!
I will do that. Sounds to me like this is an open book game a lot like the ALEK's programs. I appreciate that input!
