Here Are My TESC Diplomas!!!!
#21
Getiton1 Wrote:Hi Saharapost,

Way to go! I wish I could have been a fly on the wall the day you went to HR with your diploma!

I think the way you are planning on doing it opens more doors and is a very wise move! I may have to pick your brain again when/if we have to move to the UK! (My husband is British and I am American). Would you mind sharing with me your private e-mail for that purpose please?

Thank you so much for the congratulations! I too feel so very happy and proud! So how does this work? I paid all my bills (I confirmed with the bursars office that I don't owe the school any money). I live in NJ, and I took all nine TESC nursing courses at the college (no residency requirement issues). I got an "A" in both English classes (no problem there). In the nursing program, they don't even let you take the last two nursing courses until you are done and ALL, that means ALL (including General Education Credits and Core Classes) have been completed. So I know that I have "0" pending credits…plus I called the Registar and we went over my Academic Evaluation and indeed there are "0" credits pending and I have over 120 credits that were accepted. I reached the 120 credits needed for my BSN. And I was inducted into Sigma Theta Tau, which wouldn't have happened if I didn't complete my last nursing course…so I think I am done with everything they need from me. I got my Graduation Application and the 299.00 fee into the Registar and Bursar before October 1st, so what happens next? Do I really have to wait all the way until December to actually have my degree in hand? When do I actually get the degree? Do I have to wait until December when all the degrees are released to the students or how does the school work it?

MASSIVE CONGRATULATIONS and thank you for helping me figure out how this process works!
Tara

You are right- after you have verified with the school authorities that you have met all of the requirements for your degree program, you have no worries other than to wait. I know how it feels to have to wait that long to have your diploma in your hands. Smile The good news is, you will soon get official certification letters in the mail that you have been certified for graduation for the Nursing degree. The letters will state your graduation date. These were the letters I used for employment purpose pending when TESC sent me the real deal.
A reason why we all had to wait that long seems to be that, TESC submits graduands' names to the college Board of Trustees (for approval) on (not before) the date of their graduation. Yours will be in December. Once approved, your diploma will be mailed within 10 business days from your graduation. These days, it doesn't take TESC 10 business days from graduation to send the diplomas out. A friend in the US got her diploma within 5 days from graduation. Someone said he got his within a week from graduation.

What a relief to be done- isn't it? Smile Expect the studying bug to bite you soon. Big Grin Once bitten, you will crave to go back to school. :toetap: Please check your PM-box for my personal email. Congratulations and wishing you the very best in you career as a Nurse.
