Hello everyone.
Just trying to get some verification. Is there anyone on here who has taken Straighterline's English Composition I course and have had it successfully transferred to Excelsior College? I'm just trying to confirm whether this course will satisfy Excelsior's WER requirement.
I spoke with Jennifer at Straighterline and she stated that the ENGLISH COMPOSITION II course is up and running! I think she said it will probably take about a week for it to be updated on the Straighterline website. The only con is that it still needs to go through the approval process at the partner colleges. She said she doesn't know when that will be, although she is fairly certain that Fort Hays will approve it for credit.
Jennifer can be reached at 202-543-5034 extension 620. Her email address is jdhart@straighterline.com.
Also...does anybody know for certain whether or not Fort Hays is on the semester hour system or the quarter hour system?
Thanks for your time guys.

Does anyone know exactly, how the transcripts will look like from FHSU?
I need the English CompII, for my TESC Liberal Studies Degree, and I am concerned how the StraighterLine Courses will look on the transcripts.

I was told by StraighterLine's director, Ryan Busch, that FHSU awards a letter grade for the course on the transcript.

Will you not wait for StraighterLine to get approval from the partner colleges?

I spoke with Jennifer at Straighterline on Friday and she stated that the ENGLISH COMPOSITION II course is up and running! I think she said it will probably take about a week for it to be updated on the Straighterline website and open for enrollment.
Although we will be able to take the course, it still needs to go through the approval process at the partner colleges (for credit approval). She said she doesn't know when that will be, although she is fairly certain that Fort Hays will approve it for credit.
I'm going to proceed with the following courses and push my luck on the English Comp. II course:
-English Composition I
-English Composition II
-Macroeconomics (Economics I)
-Microeconomics (Economics II)
I don't need the English Comp. II course right away so hopefully the partner colleges will accept it. If not, I haven't lost much at all. I'm going to see if I can do ALL the above courses in a month for $99!!! Worst case scenario is 2 months tops and it will still only cost me $200 bucks! 4 courses for $200 bucks isn' a bad price don't you agree!!!!

Marshall,
My youngest is starting university in the fall and I am thinking of having him take the same 4 courses from straighterline.
He is not as fast working as his sister but he is a smart kid.
I'd appreciate hearing your feelings about these courses as you go through them - any information at all.
Thanks,
Sidney

Okay Sidney.
I probably won't be doing any of the Straighterline courses until around late April or early May. I am currently signed up with ALEKS and want to finish Beginning Algebra, Intermediate Algebra, College Algebra, & Introduction to Statistics first.
After I finish those 4 from ALEKS, I'll be doing the 4 from Straighterline. That shouldn't take me more than two months tops. 24 credits in less than 2 months!!! That's not too shabby for me at all!
I'll keep you posted on my progress.
Peace be with you.

Marshall,
That works well for me. I am thinking of enrolling him in September. Let me know how you do with aleks! I'm interested. My son is plugging away slowly at College Algebra and Trigonnometry.

Have you figured out the best way to get these courses over to TESC, I am interested in the Economics courses.
