TESC's current All TECEPÂ Tests page â not the archived content on their site where they still have information for some old TECEPs no longer offered â now includes PSY-350-TE Abnormal Psychology.
This would be duplicative with the Excelsior College Examination PSYX 310 Abnormal Psychology. Major differences between the two:
⢠There are differences in recommended texts and content outlines.
⢠The ECE costs USD 305; the TECEP, 99 plus test center fee if any.
⢠ECEs are computer-based, with about 130 four-option MCQs over three hours for this subject. TECEPs are paper-and-pencil, with 100 multiple-choice questions (likely four-option) over 2 hrs, marked on a bubble sheet, for this subject.
⢠ECEs are delivered at Pearson VUE centers. TECEPs can be proctored at "at any accredited college or university or at any public library" in the U.S. Provisions may differ internationally; contact TESC for details.
⢠An ECE returns a letter grade. A TECEP returns a result of Credit (or pass, transcripted as CR; TESC's grading key indicates that a CR for undergraduate credit is equivalent to a grade of C or better) or No Credit (this isn't transcripted, but TESC records it privately; with another fee, you could get one additional chance for a retake after a minimum 3 month wait.) For more, see TECEP Policies and Contact Info.
