Straighterline, Saylor, Study.com, CLEP - which are easier, quicker? (for TESU)

It doesn't hurt to apply and take a TECEP to lock in your catalog - just in case they change something. The only fee you would have would be the app fee (which you would pay anyway) and the TECEP fee which is about the same cost as taking a course from a course provider or testing out of it elsewhere. The TECEP locks you in for a year. So you could always take another one in a year if you aren't finished.

There still is no fee if you don't finish in the year. You might lose your catalog, but you won't have any fees, unless you have to pay an application fee again (and you can sometimes get that waived).

Even if you'd enrolled and locked in your catalog, that wouldn't have helped with the residency fee unless you could get 6 TECEP's completed before they put a deadline on it. A lot of people didn't get it who were locked into a catalog (still haven't heard anyone fight it, since it's in the catalog that TECEP's count for residency, but I'm sure that day is coming).
