I'm sorry but when you can't be bothered or concerned about customer service when your customers are the ones paying your bills, I think that speaks volumes. An entry level rep being paid min. wage I expect to treat customers poorly, but not supervisors or management. I agree and won't be recommending them after my experience. Now that another member has posted about them not using SSL to secure personal data, I won't be having my son use them either.
I didn't know about the security issue, and I'll admit I'm probably not careful enough. That was a good catch. Yeah, I'm not feeling the love. HOWEVER, next to ALEKS, they are really only the ones in that arena. I'd like to see either some competition, or an expansion with ALEKS. I've been biting my nails for their chem series to make ACE approval, it hasn't, and they may not even have applied as far as I know, but ALEKS is just SO GOOD. I wish they'd do more. (besides middle-high school which is clearly the exploding test-prep segment within that company)

I just enrolled for my only Straighterline course. Maybe it is just me But I can't figure out what I am doing wrong . I am going out of the country later today and I wanted to start the course while away. I got all signed up and got an email with my blackboard user name and password, but it won't work
.
I really don't want to spend $0.69 a minute on Monday to get this straightened out. Has anyone else had this type of problem? I tried calling but of course there is no one there on weekends.

Linda, are you logging on at the
blackboard site and not the Straighterline.com site itself? Sorry if I am assuming the wrong thing, but just trying to think what the issue could be.

I agree. I don't like when you fork out your credit card and business'es think that they can do whatever they want with your money. I think its wrong and very unethical. I would fight that with your credit card company. They'll help you fight the issue. Call your bank and have them send you a form, or download it from your bank. You have the right to dispute that. Or you know what? Cancel your credit card and have them issue you a new one. You may get alot of harrassing phone calls later about it, but you know what???? SCREW THEM!
Call your bank right now and talk to the credit card people. They'll be very glad to help and are very experienced.
One time, I bought these books online, and I think I hit a pop up something or agreed to something on a pop up which I didn't know about, and apparantly very deceitful. I got a call from my credit union saying that they were running my numbers. She explained to me that they run numbers to see if that is a good credit card number to keep billing you. Well, when I asked why, they said that they feel that they are providing a service, and therefore, can't claim its a scam, but it really is. She suggested I either call them and have them drop it, or that she would just issue me a new credit card. GAME OVER, that's what I had her do!!!! Don't pay it!

Yes Alba I just tried using the link you provided and I got the same thing. Could not login. Valid authentication credentials were not provided. I have typed and retyped the Username and lengthy password just as they sent it to me. The password is a symbol and {blackboard_password} I have typed just the symbol the symbol; and those words and just those words nothing is working.
