Has anyone taken this Straighterline course and had it transferred to TESC for Natural Science credit towards BSHSEP?
Is Straighterline similar to ALEKS?
Also, one of my requirements is to complete a Terrorism course; however, on my degree plan it does not really specify what course number etc? Does anyone have an idea where I may be able to complete this course and have it applied towards my degree?

Penn Foster courses are open book and they have Terrorism (PF Course # CJS215) available and it is ACE approved for 3cr (ACE Course Number 0182). You could call TESC and have them add it to your academic evaluation as a planned course. TESC goes by description, so do not go by the PF course level, just use the ACE number when calling TESC. Terrorism will most likely transcribe as the comparison TESC course SOS-440. Also, you would need to call the PF business and industrial # to order the course. Do a search on the forum for the contact info.
After taking the PF courses I add them to my ACE transcript and then send it to TESC (same process as Aleks).

Have you taken either of the courses? How would you rate your experience in SL & PF courses?
I'm making the call this week to PF for the Terrorism course and registering for the Intro to Biology as well. I cannot wait to be done with them, so that I can start ordering my books for my last courses at TESC.

Yes, I've taken both - it's in my signature:
Penn Foster: Bus & Tech Writing, Financial Management, Consumer Behavior, Intermediate Acctg 1.
Straighterline: Macroeconomics, Microeconomics; Accounting I (Financial), Accounting II (Managerial); Intro to Psychology
I prefer Penn Foster. SL is also good, by good I mean cheap, it's just too many quizzes/exams in my opinion. The PF courses I took had 4, 20-25question quizzes, and a final. Consumer Behavior also had 4 discussion questions (75 words) with no responses required. They were all much faster than the SL courses (except for PSY101). PF is more expensive than SL (if you complete SL course in one month) but the price also includes the textbook and it's so much faster. Just my experience, others may feel different.

I like straighterline better than Penn Foster. The accounting courses don't have quizzes any longer. Its just a bunch of tests, maybe 6 per class.
Business comm is a bunch of chapter tests and three papers.
Penn Foster had systems analysis and financial management for my BSBA CIS.
I am now doing Straighterline anatomy and physiology I and II.
Straigherline is also cheaper. I finished 3 courses in one month for $100+$39+$39. Three courses at Penn Foster would be about $900. You do get free books at Penn Foster though but Amazon.com has your acounting and business comm books for <$10 each shipped.

Ryoder,
What book did you use for business comm, on the pdf it lists the 12th ed of the text ISBN:978-0-07-337779-7, did you use something different?

Did you see the SL summer contest? They'll give an Ipad to the student who completes the most summer school classes. They also have one for highest GPA. See SL homepage.
