Straighterline Business Law ~ Any advice...not doing well
#1
Well I'm really disappointed you can't look up the answers as easily as with the other classes. It just seems the topics are not "listed" in the glossary to even look up. Anyone have any advice to help me pass. I have not done well on the first 2 quizzes.... Thanks

Unfortunately all you can do is hunker down and read the book. Once you know the area that you read the info you should be able to flip back to it to look up answers even without the glossary. You will find that the next 3 upcoming classes you have mapped out are all this way. The Accounting I & II were the only courses with Straighterline that I took and was able to just use the glossary to pass. Managerial Accounting was much more difficult. In fact, if you have a low score going into the final of the Managerial Accounting course you will have a very hard time passing the course. The good thing about business law is you will find a lot of the content is repeated in future courses you have mapped out. So it will pay off to read and take your time with it.

Keep working on it!

I feel the pain. I finished SL's Business Law course last month, and honestly it was the hardest one I have done yet. Don't let that deter you, though! You just have to hunker down. Mainly they will ask you in the second half when to apply certain aspects of contract law, and they go in depth into the subject of agency. They give you some hypothetical situations, and then in the choices you determine which legal precedent applies.

You should do fine. Rely on the glossary and the index heavily, and don't hesitate to use the open book format of the tests. You are also allowed one page of notes, so also make some notes as well.

Best of luck.

I would recommend the CLEP instead since it is more recognized as credit across the board than ACE credit. Use the exam specific feedback as a study guide.

Honestly, I can't believe I may fail and open book class!!! This class has been the hardest so far. Now I'm at at 68.9% with one more quiz and the final. It will be a miracle if I pass. If not....then off to "clep" world! At least there's a back up option Smile

Your first bet should always be CLEP or DSST, not Straighterline. This is because Harvard accepts CLEP but not Straighterline. I love Straighterline but consider it a secondary source of credit.
Now that you have been through the entire SL course, go buy the REA Business Law CLEP guide and read it. Then study the exam specific feedback and finally take the CLEP. You will do fine if you actually read the REA book. Most people do not want to read and just jump into practice tests and I think that is a shame.
