I would not choose this route to obtain these 3 credits. Use CLEP or DSST or some other way to receive your credits for a business ethics course.
B.
I ended up taking the course through SL and didn't find it tedious or hard to pass at all, but you do need to read the book. I ended up with an 88 in the class, but this was my first class with SL and had no clue what things would be like. I am happy with an 88 though. Things are different for everyone.

Any chance anyone could recommend a good study guide that's closest to the final exam?

The final exam, which is open book, is taken from the quizzes and book. It's not that hard or time-consuming to do the work. If you can't do that, do the quizzes and go for the final.
