Hey everyone! I saw someone mention that ETAMU actually pulled in grades from StraighterLine and that those grades counted toward their GPA. I’ve honestly never heard of that before — I thought StraighterLine credits usually transfer as “Pass” only.
Does anyone know if ETAMU still does this? I’ll be starting next term and just want to make sure how it works. If it really affects GPA, that sounds like a nice way to give it a little boost! ?
Thanks in advance for any info or personal experience! ?

COSC does that as well, and probably a few more does too, having said this... It doesn't do anything for your internal GPA at ETAMU. They're just looking to create an external GPA for entry purposes or for something similar, it doesn't affect your internal GPA as internal GPA are classes you've completed. Furthermore, graduate schools and any other institution would not look at those external GPA unless you have not taken any classes and they need a GPA for initial entry, evaluation, and other reference purposes. Nonetheless, sometimes it may look good for those who need the ego boost...

That is the email I got from the admission office" I received your StraighterLine transcript this morning and I will go back into your transfer coursework and add your letter grades, so you will see A, B, C, etc. It will count toward your overall gpa." don't know the difference between internal or external yet, hopefully I will figure it out later. Thank you for sharing!

ETAMU alum here. While I didn’t transfer in any straighter line credits.
Your internal GPA will only calculate on courses taken with ETAMU. Your overall GPA will be the average of all of your credits, including transfer credits and classes taken with ETAMU.
