StraightLine-Anatomy & Physiology Lab Pig dissect
#1
I had no idea I was going to have to dissect a baby pig when I signed up for the Anatomy lab at StraighterLine. Have anyone else took this lab? I'm wondering if I can get away with not dissecting the pig and still pass. By the way, there is also a lamb brain and cow eyeball that have to be dissected. I have no idea why American Public Unversity had me taking a science lab in my program as a technology major.

Without knowing which assignments require the dissection of the pig, I count 5 "worksheets" listed in the syllabus that seem to be natural areas where it would used. Each worksheet is worth 75 points. The total for all 5 worksheets comes out to be worth 375 points of your grade. It would be mathematically impossible to pass that class, assuming the dissection is needed in all 5 worksheets. Alternatively, you could take Biology lab, Chemistry lab, or Physics lab through SL, if APU will accept them. Study.com also has Biology w/Lab, and Chemistry w/Lab available but check with APU to make sure they'll take them.

I completed A&P I and II, and Micro each with lab through Straighterline, and they straight up wont grade the lab worksheets if you dont include the photos of having completed each lab (including the dissections). In other words, there is no taking a zero without genuinely attempting the work.

Thanks for your reply, I'm going to do the dissections with my daughters help next weekend.

It definitely helps to have another person able to read the directions and to help take photos ;-)

Just wondering, is that the only science they (APUS) accept? Wouldn't it be easier if you took the Study.com Biology 101 w/lab for 4 credits? That is entirely online and they use labster, if you need a lab course, that's the main recommendation from me. Other than that, Study.com/StraighterLine has several science courses with and without labs...

I was already at StraighterLine doing my general education courses and didn't want to go to study.com, so I can keep my transcript in that one place outside of my university. I finished the biology 101 w/lab already at StraighterLine and now finishing the anatomy w/lab.

I strongly recommend that you add them all to the ACE registry as well https://www2.acenet.edu/credit/?fuseacti...ripts.main - years from now you made need a transcript and odds are far more favorable that ACE remains than any current provider.
