Statistics courses with ALEKS
#1
I am almost at the point of reaching 70% in ALEKS for Statistics for the Behavioural Sciences. I know that ACE will give me 3 credits for it once I get to the precious 70%.

I was wondering if I could quickly knock out the Intro to Statistics course straight after that as the material is pretty similar. I'm assuming ACE will give me 3 credits for that too.

My question is this - will TESC accept both courses for credit?

Cheers

Yes to question 1 and no to question 2. Smile I completed Intro to Stats first, reaching a learning progress of 96%; then took the initial assessment for Stats for the Behavioral Sciences and nailed it above 80%. Got credits for both of them. I would say they are nearly identical in content. Business Stats has several more topics, but if you've studied the other Stats well, you may be able to nail it at above 70% on the initial assessment as well.

TESC will only award credits for one of the 3 ALEKS Statistics courses since the credits overlap. Alternatively, Saylor has a Business Statistics course which has a TESC equivalency of an OPM course, so it will not overlap with the ALEKS Statistics courses.

Thanks for that. Well there goes my cunning plan to knock out some extra credits for minimal work!!! I don't know if I'm into stats enough to sign up for the Saylor course but I'll check it out.

Cheers!
