Spring 1 Session 1 -- What is YOURPace?

He was told all references require a DOI.

I just finished this class and had a really difficult time with it. The professor just kept telling me to use Purdue OWL, which I was using. One thing that was really frustrating is that she kept saying one of my citations was in MLA when I promise it wasn't. I've already taken classes exactly like this one but they transferred in as elective credits. Anyway, I had my cousin, who has a Doctorate in education look over my final and she helped me and fixed things and cleared up a lot of my confusion. I passed but was still told the way I was putting the volume and issue was incorrect.

My final included three DOI's, a government website, a book, and a Youtube video from an educational organization.

Just submitted my last rough draft....3 papers to edit and resubmit....then my undergrad days at UMPI are over forever. I'll have completed 2 bachelor's degrees, 3 minors, and 1 concentration. I'll be soooooo happy to be done with the Marketing Concentration. It was soooooooooo much more work that I ever expected.

Congrats man. That's a boatload of courses you finished up. I bet it feels pretty good seeing a light at the end of the tunnel.

When it's all over, I'll have taken 26 courses at UMPI. Yes I am so happy to see the end of the tunnel. I start grad school on the 12th. Not much of a break. LOL

Congratulations! I hope that you get to treat yourself to something nice!

Do you have any advice for others in the marketing concentration?

My advice on the Marketing Concentration? Don't do it! Pick one of the others especially the Management and Leadership Concentration particularly if you want to get done in 1-2 terms. It took me 3 terms because there are so many looong papers. This program has professors who are new to YourPace and send papers back multiple times wanting things that aren't in the instructions or the rubrics. It's been very frustrating. I've had to have phone calls with 1 professor for every class he taught because he's always telling me I missed sections. The only exam is BUS330. There are several PowerPoints with voiceover. You have to write a commercial for a class. Not as easy as it sounds! One class had a long paper with a PowerPoint presentation with voiceover. My last 2 papers had to be 10-15 pages and a minimum of 15 pages. Far too long especially given the course content.

Oof. Changing my concentration is definitely more appealing now!
