Sophia.org -> UMPI degree plan?
#1
Hello, I am looking at adding on some credits from Sophia.org before I start my transfer application to UMPI and was wondering which classes I should take. The degree I plan on pursuing from UMPI is Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration - Project Management Concentration.

Here are the credits I currently have:

*Community College*
REL 207 Ritual, Symbol, and Myth | 3 credits | grade = A
HES 100 Healthful Living | 3 credits | grade = A
EDU 230 Cultural Diversity | 3 credits | grade = A
MHL 153 Rock Music and Culture | 3 credits | grade = A
COM 100 Intro to Human Communication | 3 credits | grade = A
PSY 101 Intro to Psychology | 3 credits | grade = A
IBS 101 Intro to International Business | 3 credits | grade = A

Total = 21 credits

*Liberty University*
INFT 101 Instr Tech for Online Learning | 3 credits | grade = A
INFT 110 Computer Concepts | 3 credits | grade = A
CSIS 100 Intro to Information Science | 3 credits | grade = A
ENGL 100 Basic Composition | 3 credits | grade = A
BIOL 101 Principles of Biology | 3 credits | grade = A
MATH 110 Intermediate Algebra | 3 credits | grade = A
MATH 115 Mathematics for Liberal Arts | 3 credits | grade = A
CSIS 110 Intro to Computing Sciences | 3 credits | grade = A
CSIS 212 Object-Oriented Programming | 3 credits | grade = A
ENGL 101 Composition and Rhetoric | 3 credits | grade = A

Total = 30 credits

Ultimately, I would prefer to take as many transferable credits from Sophia as I can before transferring over to UMPI.
I would greatly appreciate any advice!

Here's my recommendations:

Do NOT take any English courses on Sophia. Take them all at UMPI. They're MUCH less work and shorter - a lot LESS writing.

If you're going into the Project Management concentration or minor, I recommend you take Project Management at UMPI. That particular course is the building block to 2 UL PM courses at UMPI. Your Final Assessment for the 2 UL courses is based on the project your create in BUS141 - Intro to PM.

Accounting
Business Law
Introduction to Business
Principles of Finance
Communication at Work
Conflict Resolution
Ancient Greek Philosophers (Take this before Ethics - It makes the class easier)
Introduction to Ethics
College Algebra
Introduction to Statistics
Environmental Science
Introduction to Sociology
Macroeconomics
Microeconomics
Us History 1 - you can take 2 but it's not required

You may want to take Spanish 1 on InstantCert as well.

Feel free to send me a pm if you have any UMPI questions.

I didn't expect such a detailed answer, thanks so much. I just finished signing up for Sophia and will follow your advice to the T!
