Nope, no proctored exam. BSLIONS said there was no proctored exam in Post #5 of this thread. That is one of the reasons I am interested in taking it. It would be nice if it counts towards "Knowledge of Human Cultures" Credit at TESU. Even if it does not I will still take it as an elective.
You may wish to verify that with Sophia before depending on it. If you look at the details on their site, it looks like all of the paid (3-credit) courses require proctoring. So it seems odd that they'd have one non-proctored paid course when all the rest require proctoring.
When the course was first introduced several people confirmed that it didn't have a proctor requirement at the time, but it has been a while now, so I'd check to be sure. If it is, and Sophia intends for it to remain unproctored, that would be great to know.
The main website says "3 humanities credits" as a headline of recent news. The review section on the course, meaning user/student reviews of the course it self say things like "No Proctor, Finished Quickly" from just 5 days ago.

I think it is just about safe to say that there is no proctored final exam for this course. I just don't know if it will count towards the "Knowledge of Human Cultures" requirement at TESU yet.

I think it comes in as a PHI course, which counts in the KHC area, so you should be fine.

We have had a few posters above disagree on if it is proctored or not. I pointed out that a recent review of the course on the site had people giving feedback like "No Proctor, Course was Quick". I know it is not a total confirmation but I was just wondering if you happen to know?

Just curious but why does it matter if it is proctored? I'm not saying you want to cheat but I believe all their their tests are open book anyway, proctored or not.

I don't have a webcam, microphone or a large mirror yet to do any proctored exams. Besides, the course is $149 compared to others that are over $300. Non-proctored courses are also usually cheaper due to a lack of a proctor. Those are a few of the incentives to seek out non-proctored exams.

Just to clarify, I wasn't disagreeing. Just suggesting you contact them to confirm before you purchase the course. If you're depending on it being unproctored and after paying for it you discover that it is proctored, that may be a problem for you. It would be a waste of money at the least if you don't have a webcam. (Though a webcam/mic can easily be acquired for under $25... plus you don't need a mirror with an external webcam.)

Just thought I'd point out that with that promotion, the ancient greek philosophers class becomes $75 which is a steal if you need it for your degree.
