Social Science/History CLEP
#1
I'm trying to study for the social science/history CLEP and I saw the info for which topics would be best to get a basic overview of(with the flashcards), but my question is...how much is a basic overview?
Like in the psychology section...should I study all the topics in there?
Or is there certain ones that would be better?

I want to study the least amount of information possible but still pass the CLEP easily.

How long does it typically take to study for this test?
Which flashcard sets are best???
HELP please! Smile

I think the Sociology flashcards would be especially helpful, I seemed to have more sociology questions
than psychology ones, but that was just my test.

I only studied a few hours for this test and passed it, but that was right after taking the Environment and Humanity and
Human and Cultural Geography DSSTs which had a lot of overlap.

40 of the questions on my exam were American history so make sure you brush up on that.
There were also about 3 or 4 very basic religion questions and about 5 Western Civilization ones.
On my test it was mostly American history with about 15 psychology/sociology questions, the rest was a mixture of
geography, geology, anthropology, and Western Civilization.
All of these were pretty basic though, this exam is very broad but shallow!

Good luck Smile

thanks for the info!
I'm having a horrid time studying for the economics part of it...

I have one question though, and it's likely an extremely stupid question...
is Social Sciences/History all one CLEP?

Social Sciences and History is one 6-credit CLEP. I used a series of lectures from iTunes U, but I can't remember which ones exactly. They helped with the economics and sociology parts of the test (and gave me a little foundation when I took the Sociology CLEP a couple months later). HERE is the post I wrote after I took the test a few months ago.

Good luck!

It seemed to me like there were less than 10 questions on economics, so I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Good luck Smile
