I have been trying to get this whole Charter Oak thing figured out so I can enroll and be done but the advisor is very hard to get ahold of (although not as difficult as Excelsior) .Can someone shed a little light on how their system works?.
From my understanding, for a BS, you need to have 60 Liberal Arts credits in anything in addition to the general studies requirement. Then for the concentration you need to have 30 credits in the same course alignment.
Ok it that is the case then I have 24 credits in computer related fields so I would only need to ensure I have the required Liberal Arts and then get 6 more Computer credits correct?
I had an eval done but I don't think it was done for a BS degree.
Thank you.

The 30 credits in your concentration MUST be at the upper level (300-400 level) classes. Your Capstone will count for three of these.
All Gen-Eds must be met, General Education Requirements - Charter Oak State College Catalog This can run from 27-36 credits, depends on how you earn them, for instance the DSST Human Cultural Geography exam is only worth 3 credits, but it satisfies three requirements. (by the way your concentration must actually be 36 credits, at least 30 must be upper level).
The remaining 60 odd credits can be in just about anything for the BS, for the BA more of them will have to be in the "arts" Programs of Study and Degree Requirements - Charter Oak State College Catalog 3 credits will come from the Cornerstone Course. For the BS at least, consider FEMA Emergency Management Institute | Independent Study (IS) - Course List which are still free to take and COSC accepts around 30 of them. Just about all the FEMA that indicate "college credit" should transfer.

I'm always happy to complete the free application waiver for those applying to WGU (I get a free gift from WGU for this). Just PM me your first/last name and a valid email so I can complete their form.

(Cross-posted with rebel100 who is also of course on point.)
I think most concentrations at Charter Oak are 36 semester hours, some more. Each concentration has specific requirements, including upper-level requirements, and each requires a capstone. They're detailed in two main public places: the Majors and Concentrations (Fields of Study) directory on the COSC website, and the current College catalog.
You can meet the liberal arts requirement using credits from within your concentration, from your gen ed requirements, or electives, as long as Charter Oak counts them as liberal arts. You can also â this is more or less unique to Charter Oak among the Big Three â meet General Education requirements with courses that are concurrently in your concentration, and meet more than one gen ed requirement with the same course if appropriate. For instance, the imaginary course "Ethics in U.S. Foreign Policy" could very well satisfy the Ethical Decision-Making, U.S. History/Government, Global Understanding, and Social/Behavioral Studies requirements all at once.

I'm not sure if something has changed, but now it is a total of 30 upper level credits with 15 of them in the concentration.

Thank you all for looking into it for me. I decided to enroll at Excelsior and finish up there as I only needed 30 credits total with about 15UL. I have been working on those at PF and Colorado State Pueblo and it looks like I will take the capstone in Jan and be done.
