Shout out to Dustin on the other Channel -Great Books
#1
I read on the other channel that Dustin has acquired or will soon acquire a set of the Great Books of the Western World.

I recommend he looks at  Paul Murray's "New Shorter Reading Plan for the Great Books of the Western World."

As for me, I am really enjoying the occasional free lectures put on by the University of Chicago -Graham School. At some point I hope to enroll in the Basic Program of Liberal Education.

Yes, we should have more threads on this and the sister board, people interested in the Great Books should check out the forums (both of them) by doing a search. If I recall correctly, there were some courses from ACE or NCCRS like Onlinedegree.com or some colleges (forgot the names) that uses the Great Books as reference or teaching material for their courses. Sometimes you come across offerings that are both inexpensive and in subjects you're interested in...

Another very good discussion. I was very pleased that my question regarding original languages, inspired byRachel, was the first question addressed. I will share the link to the conversation once posted.

Here is the link to the mentioned conversation: https://youtu.be/py-JqwgAbgg?si=vpgbAJBwGmldB8Tk

Professor Sharp addresses my question at 54:14. He opines that knowledge of the original languages is really good but not necessary.
