Sorry I posted in the general education earlier and realized this should be under the TESC specific.
"I have been trying to find the answer to this and am hoping someone can answer it. I am a bit confused. I know that TESC allows 120 credits to be transferred in. Assuming you are able to do this, can you elect the per credit enrollment fee and not have to actually pay an enrollment fee?"

TESC allows up to 120 credits in transfer, but most degrees require a capstone to be taken in residence (this is done online). The Per Credit Tuition Plan requires 24 credits in residence for bachelor's degrees. TECEPs ($111 each for nonresidents), PLAs, e-Packs ($491 per credit hour for nonresidents), and online and guided study courses ($491 per credit hour for nonresidents) count toward the residency requirements. The residency credits do not have to apply to your degree.

Very few people on the board have transferred 120 credits. Your costs are going to vary based on how you choose to meet the residency requirement. The cheapest way is to take as many TECEP exams as possible, but how this fits into each degree varies. If you plan a BA, the capstone will cost you $1531. For a BSBA the capstone can be taken at Penn Foster or can be taken as a TECEP to save money. For me, it was easier to pay the enrollment than it was to try and fit 24 residency credits into my degree.

I'm doing a 2nd bachelors degree so in a way I transferred in 120 plus credits. For TESC a couple of complications are the capstone requirement for some programs and the diversity, social responsibility and ethics requirement. None of my previous credits satisfied the diversity, social responsibility and ethics requirements. Each college has their own requirements and will categorize classes differently. In order to graduate from TESC you have to be an enrolled student. Either pay the enrollment fee or the per credit tuition fee. The costs vary based on residence (NJ resident or out of state) or if your employer is part of the corporate choice program. For the residency requirements I'm not sure how it works. I am currently enrolled in the per credit tuition plan and according to my official evaluation the residency credits do not have to fit into the degree program.

Just to be clear, because I got caught in this mess, TESC only is allowing the PLA-100/200 courses to count towards residency... not actual portfolio credits.
