At the last CLEP I took at COSC (intro Psyc), the proctor refused to give me scratch paper stating that "only certain exams allow for it". I had a feeling that she didn't know what she was talking about, but what could I do? I like having scratch paper because I sometimes find answers contained in questions that come up later in the test.
Did I have a proctor that didn't know what they were talking about or does the College Board have scratch paper rules?

I'm not sure what the official rules are, but in all 6 of my exams I've requested scratch paper. I haven't always used it, but I like to have it just in case. Sometimes it helps me get figures, key terms, or names straight. I would have asked her for proof of that rule...ased her to call the actual testing coordinator to confirm. Hmm..

When I took my CLEPs, scratch paper has been provided without asking for each exam as protocol.

I've had scratch paper provided on all of mine too. It was just there. I didn't have to ask or anything.

When I took my CLEP for Intro to Physc they had scrap paper laying out , heck every time I have taken a test regardless they had paper and pencils laying out for you to use.
Maybe they are trying to save the trees or maximize the bottom line.
