Very rarely, once in a blue moon, a school might still assign letter grades to CLEPs. If your destination is, let's see *Googles*… Southwest Texas Junior College, it looks like they attach letter grades to some CLEP scores. Where these policies still exist they're probably holdovers from the time before about the year 2000 when, if I have this right, CLEP tests were norm-referenced rather than criterion-referenced as they are now.

cookderosa Wrote:Second- you are already earning 100-200 level credit through AP and IB. Colleges NEVER allow you to duplicate credit. So, for instance, let's say you pass your AP Psych with a 3. If you took the CLEP psych exam, it wouldn't count for anything. The Psych101 credit comes from either exam. Put another way, I might take College Algebra three times, but credit can only be given once.
Yes. Quoted for emphasis. Anberline, before putting much work into the second of these two, I'd double-, possibly triple-check with colleges you're looking at that AP Psychology and IB Psychology don't duplicate. If your high school tells you these don't duplicate, on the face of it, there's a good chance your high school is mistaken.

I can tell you my local private university costs $120,000. I'd wager you a dime no one outside my state has ever heard of it. Choose wisely.
Quoted for emphasis, too. Smile
