"Wow" is pretty much the best way to describe this test. It was not too long, just 160 questions, yet it took me 2 1/2 hours. I can tell you one thing, IC was nowhere near enough. While I do appreciate the effort made to create the guide, it barely covered half of the material that was on my test, if that. Luckily I studied the other materials mentioned on Beckysharp's posts (thanks again!) as well as the Excelsior practice tests; I STILL do not feel confident....at all. I kept a running tally of questions I was 100% sure I knew and came up with an even 50. There were probably about 20 others that I was fairly sure on, 20 that were simply "throw a dart blind guesses", and the rest I could narrow down to two answers. I am not panicking as it's really too late now to worry or wonder. I do know that if I fail I will not attempt a retry; the material is just too expansive and the scenarios are VERY vague. My hat is off to anyone getting a good score on this one. More to come when the score comes in.

Magic, how did you fare? Lee

Lee,
I agree with you on the test but it is one that I walked away with a higher score than I thought I had made.
I'm sure you will have the same experience.

For those that are interested in scoring for ECE exams there is a document called: Excelsior College Exam Tecnhical Handbook 2005. I tried to attached but IC limits prohibited it. It is located under the publications section. I happened upon it by pure chance. It lists all exams and grading criteria.
IE Abnormal Psychology:

Grade Cut Score % Form F % Form G
A 62 14% 20%
B 54 30% 35%
C 45 29% 25%

Also contains information on the two different exams Forms F and G thought Im sure you probably dont know which one your getting. Additionally, if you look you will see the percentage of A's B's and C's differ depending on the form you get. It also includes additional data such as Mean Item Difficulty, Mean Item-Total Correlation (point-biserial) and internal consistancy data, if those items actually mean anything to anyone. Hope this helps.

I agree with you Lee. However I did feel better on this one then I thought I would. That link you sent me was a help, thanks. I am hoping this is one of those tests that you feel bad about but find out you did good. I used IC, Excelsior's practice test and this link: http://bcs.wiley.com/he-bcs/Books?action...rceId=1872
I was also looking through the GRE Psychology studyguides(both) and they had a lot of good info that IC left out. I should have looked at that more. I think anything else might be overkill.

Good link. Thank you for the extra input also. I'll look at all these suggestions again when the time comes to take this.

I'm sure that congrats are going to be in order for both you, Magic, and Lee soon. I'll be waiting to hear. Smile

Just letting you all know I pass Abnormal Psychology with a "B". I might have done better if I spent some time in that GRE Psy book but I am happy with a pass. I will do Social Psy next week then on to Research Methods if those cards are out. That will be the last one before graduation.

I called Excelsior today checking to see if my test arrived, it had been sitting in a pile for 2 days. Martha was nice enough to take it out of the pile, grade it, then call me here in England with the score: "B"! I don't think you can get much better customer service than that. Kudos to IC and thanks to all those (Beckysharp & Magic) who posted their experiences, study methods, and links here. This is what's great about this forum, helping others as well as yourself. Regards, Lee
