General advises needed and wondering if anyone else has run into issues with the same question in two different books giving different answers.?
Identify the error in the sentence
The new 1994 For having slowed down a little, the driver greeted the riders in the short distance between the buildings and the display area of the auto show.
A. The new 1994 For having slowed down a little
B greeted the riders
C distance between the buildings
D the display area
E No Error
Version 1 of Barrons (old Clep study guide)Answer is NO Error
Version 2 of Barrrons (newest clep study guide) Answer is A Reason, Dangling modifer.
I orginally had selected A for the reason of dangling modifer; however, I am now second guessing other questions, which after answering, I was left wondering...why is that the answer...
Another one they have marked correct (in the older version) that seems off to me is
Most all of the evidence the prosecutor so carefully presented in his summation was ignored by the jury, because the defence attorney made such an emotional speech explaining his client's actions.
A. Most all of the evidence
B. by the jury
C. because the defence attorney
D.explaining his client's actions.
E. No Error
I picked A...for being redundant (Most is most, most all seems too much)
Any assistance is appreciated ...thanks
