SL Business Comm, am I just stupid
#1
Help me out here, am I just stupid? I'm struggling with SL Business Communications. Many of the answers for the quizzes seem very opinion based. They speak in absolutes in matters that are completely based on context. It's driving me crazy! Maybe I just see the world as too grey.

I had the same experience when I took this class. The subject information in the book is usually presented as a general statement while the exam questions seem like 2 contextual levels above what is written, felt like you have to guess or infer what they are looking for. I had to keep re-reading the section in the book during the exam just to understand what answer they wanted. I think you can get a passing grade by doing this but it's difficult to get an A or a high B with the exams in my opinion.

I'm still on the fence on SL. On my first turnin assignment I got a 0% similarity score since it was based on my experience. On my resume and cover letter, which I made up since I'm in IT and not an officer manager, I scored 67% or something crazy like that. Guess I shouldn't have used things like "Filed paperwork" or "Answered the phone". Now I know why when I get cover letters for job applicants they pretty much all seem the same. Because the are!
