Foreign (canadian) bachelor's degree does not waive GE requirements?

If so, it doesn't make sense to spend possibly another $99 or more for Public Speaking (because Public Speaking can take over a month at Sophia) when you can pay $70 to SDC and have it tag along with other courses you were going to take anyway. Presentation Skills takes maybe 3 days, tops. That's if you're slow.

I went by the list of courses they said they wanted to take.

But, a month of Sophia is still less than a month of SDC, and it's less than adding courses/exams at $70 a pop if you want to do a couple/few easy courses.  Totally up to the OP.

I'm going to do a combination approach here.

Ethics: I've already knocked out Sophia's Ethics course. I'm still in the grace period for my subscription, which ends on the 18th.

Civics: I've started the Sophia American Government course, but I don't want to finish it, because I don't want to write the papers. Sophia might take longer than my grace period to grade them, plus they seem tedious to write. Time is somewhat of the essence. I'm wrapping up an accelerated community college course on C++, and I was hoping to move onto SDC courses for my AOS this weekend. I'm going to wait to see what TESU says about my appeal for US Politics. If they deny it, take a $5 Saylor exam.

Public speaking: rachel83az is right that I need to sign up for SDC anyway, and it sounds like it'll take a long time to get the Sophia public speaking course completed & graded. I'll take the SDC course.

English I and II: I'm going to send in my AP scores.

Capstone: I'm taking allvia's advice and planning on taking it through EdX. This forum will save you thousands!

UPDATE: It's just an error, not a policy change. Got this email from TESU just now:

Quote:I contacted the Registrar's Office regarding your evaluation.  It seems it was evaluated in error and will be updated to reflect the policies for second degree students.  As such, you will be exempted from the General Education requirements.

They've already updated my eval to exempt me from the gen eds. I'm back on track!

Thank you everyone here, and also major credit to Cindy Strain for the very quick turnaround and resolution.

@ItsNeverTheLionsYear, that's great news! I knew it was an error, just had to get in contact with the right people at TESU for things that we can't change... Even systems they use aren't going to be perfect, as long as it's resolved, everything is good!
