Review of Medical Terminology TECEP
#1
I passed the Medical Terminology TECEP with a 75.5%. 70% is needed to pass. I neither used the recommended textbook nor the old, recommended, free, study materials. The free study materials were Anatomy and Physiology e-books. I went through Des Moines University's free Medical Terminology course. It's more of a mini-course that only covers 300 terms. The university says a full course will cover 3,000 terms. But, just knowing roots, prefixes, and suffixes helps a lot. I had to rely a bit, though, on my previous studies of A&P and medicine. As someone else said, there are some medical questions that go beyond simple medical terminology. I don't know if those are covered in the recommended textbook. One should always look over the example questions in the test description because they're sometimes on the exam. You have 120 minutes to take the exam; I finished in about 30 minutes.

I've been wanting to say that too, but was afraid I'd come across as condescending. Smile

Thanks for the insight! I plan on taking this exam Sunday so it's good to see some feedback.

I studied for about two hours, so I think anyone can pass this exam with several hours of study.

Congrats! Question for you––what did you use to study in said 2 hours?? Smile I'm almost halfway through the DMU free online course, and only have studied a few hours myself, but got a 94% on the practice TECEP exam. Think I'll be okay??
