I was thinking of doing the Study.com "English 102: American Literature" course for the first Survey of Literature requirement, and the Coopersmith "American Literature Survey: 1900 to Present" course as the second. However, the Study.com one requires two 1000-1500 word essays. I'm a bit tired of writing so much (and also knowing I have more than 20x left for the remaining courses and Capstone).
For those who have taken either American Lit. Survey I or II (or both) at Coopersmith, what has been your impression of the course/s? How enjoyable are they? Are the exams excessively difficult?

I don't know anything about Coopersmith but most people take the American Lit CLEP, which counts for both 1 & 2 in one test. It's not a hard test and I would say that's probably your best bet

I would always opt for the CLEP first, since you get way more bang for your buck (it's 6cr for the price of 3, and it's free if you use Modern States).
If you still want to use Coopersmith, you can ask them directly. They are on here, although not often I think, but they did say that you'd get a real answer from a real person if you contacted them.

I can't do CLEP's (no access to testing centers). The Coopersmith courses seem like a good option, though.

I had to drive an hour each way to do the American Lit 1&2 CLEP. it was the only one I did but it was well worth it.
If you decide there isn't any way at all you can do a CLEP, then Coopersmith will be your best bet, but almost no one here has ever used them for it so I don't know what to tell you about their version.

I think Coopersmith is the only inexpensive option to do the I & II courses. Everything else is just a general 3cr course that won't work if you need 2 full semesters.
