I'm not sure about EC, but I do know that some B&M colleges do not allow you to use an exam based P/F credit (like CLEP/DSST) to replace a letter grade from a B&M class... particularly in schools where re-taking a class for a better grade ends up averaged with the first result rather than replaced.
I imagine that EC would allow it since the big 3 all seem to be fairly progressive when it comes to exam credits, but you might need to check with an advisor to be safe. I need to check into the same thing for COSC, since I have a C from a B&M class that I'd like to replace with a DSST for a higher GPA.
