Hello.
I will be enrolling in TESC soon, but for now I am only an applicant with a student ID#. Today I took my first DSST and the score will be sent to TESC within 2 weeks. Do I have to enroll in TESC within 2 weeks in order to get credit for that exam or I can just take whatever CLEP/DSSTs I want and enroll afterwards (within 6 months from my application date)? Will it just be considered transfer credit if I take some DSST/CLEPs before enrollment?

It's best to finish ALL your CLEP/DSST etc before you apply to TESC.

You need to enroll within 6 months in order for your evaluation to stay the same. After 6 months is up you'll have to reapply, and your evaluation is subject to change. CLEP/DSST will be considered transfer credit regardless of whether the scores were sent in before or after enrollment.

Sweet! Thank you guys for your answers.
Another problem that may arise, though, is that I can not get my clep/dsst exam program approved before I enrolled since I do not have access to an academic adviser prior to enrollment, correct?

They will give you an academic evaluation while you are an applicant, but you are correct that you can't get an academic advisor appointment without being enrolled. You can begin taking tests that you know will fit into your degree plan and then after you enroll, you get the ones you're not sure of approved.

TESC is definitely way less than helpful if you're not enrolled. The answers they do give are vague and generally unhelpful.

No school is going to preapprove your exams before you enroll. That's why they post charts on their websites on how tests are transcribed.

That may be true, generally. However, with TESC I would call and ask "Can X meet the Y requirement?" And their answer would be something about how they couldn't answer that question because I wasn't enrolled.
At COSC, I would call and ask the same thing. They would always give me a yes or no answer on the spot.
