Ok so I am done with all 3 of the Petersons trial exams on Westeren Civ 1 and out of 120 here is my followign scores on those practice exams:
Exam 1: 53 Correct/ 67 Incorrect
Exam 2: 61 Correct/ 59 Incorrect
Exam 3: 58 Correct/ 62 Incorrect
Ok, so the way they score it on the CLEP is basiclly 1 point for a correct answer and thats it? Its not a % of correct answers to incorrect ones? I know questions not answered dont count against you so I just need soem clarification please :p The score needed to pass the CLEP at my school is 50.

Don't beat yourself up over it. Schedule the exam.
In the meantime, keep doing the IC Flashcards.

Barely cracking 50% on one of three practice exams doesn't sound like ready to me. But I never used Peterson's practice exams, so take it for what it's worth. I think you should buy a copy of the CLEP Official Guide, and you should score at least 60% on the practice exam there before you schedule the real exam.
Oh and questions not answered do count against you -- they count as a wrong answer.

Supposedly the Peterson practice exams are a lot harder than the actual CLEP from what I've heard on this forum so that might be why he said I was ready. Not sure though.

I'm in the same boat, I took the three exams for sociology and got a 49, 47 and a 43. I was freaking out but was told the Peterson is much harder the the clep tests. I went to take my first exam today after work only to find out the testing center had changed their hours!!!!!

Well, I have 4 days left till I sit my first test which will be the Western Civ 1 CLEP. As stated above I have already did the three petersons test and I got the REA guide for this test and did the 2 tests in it yesterday with about the same results as the Petersons, kind of discouraging. The way they word questions is what scares me as it basiclly alters the way I approach a question. Am I nervous?....... Oh definetly! Im gonna keep reading the guide over again and retaking the test without the answers and see if I can boost my scores.
